Biography

As the owner and operator of Sam Robertson Real Estate Co., Sam has enjoyed a long and diverse career spanning the Continental U.S. in both real estate and as a former collegiate football coach. As broker of the company, his niche in real estate remains in the commercial arena where he has had the opportunity to represent a multitude of companies. As a result of his two careers, Sam maintains contacts nationwide that allow him to achieve new developments and to bring economic growth to our community in Acadiana.

Sam began his real estate career in 1986. Then in 1988, Sam founded Sam Robertson Real Estate Co. and has remained at the head of this team for over 30 years. From inception, the company has been a full-service real estate group providing both commercial and residential services. Sam in particular specializes in commercial properties, specifically many of the oil and gas service companies including Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Superior Energy, and Schlumberger among others.

Sam chose to make Lafayette his home and raise his family here after working across the country. He has served the Lafayette real estate market with great pride and integrity and nothing brings him greater joy than helping his fellow neighbor close a deal.

Prior to his real estate career, Sam coached college football for 20+ years at the University of Tennessee, Kansas State University, University of Oregon, Texas Tech University, and as the head football coach at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Coaching gave him an opportunity to meet and become friends with a wide range of very influential business people throughout the country.

As a community leader, Sam has remained involved in Lafayette and the surrounding area. He has been a dedicated member of the Krewe of Gabriel, serving as a past Commodore in addition to his service as a Board Member for the Greater Southwest Mardi Gras Association. He has served as the Campaign Chair for the United Way of Acadiana, served on the Board for Boy Scouts of America, served as the Parish Campaign Chair for the Bishops Services Appeal, and has even remained connected to his high school by serving on the McCallie High School Board of Athletic Advisors in Chattanooga, TN.
